Dr. S. R. Lasker Library, East West University hosted the 17th International Conference on Webometrics, Informetrics and Scientometrics (WIS) and the 22nd COLLNET Meeting from 08-10 December 2023 in a hybrid format.

UNESCO created International Literacy Day in 1967 to bring attention to this issue and it has been celebrated annually on 8th September ever since.

East West University (EWU) Library organized an enlightening discussion session on the advantages of subscribing to Springer Nature eBooks for faculty members and students. The event took place on June 12, 2023, at 3:00 PM at the Reserve Section (Annex) of the EWU Library.

East West University Library has organized an online discussion program on "Digital libraries in the pandemic: How EWU library served the community" on the occasion of National Library Day 2022 through Google Meet on 15 February 2022.

Each year United Nations makes a request to the all to observe a day of non-violence and cease-fire that day is mentioned as “International Day of Peace”. Each year on 21 September, the day has been celebrated around the world.

On 02 June 2021, a book donation program was held at Dr. M. Afsarul Qader’s residence at Dhanmondi. Dr. M. Afsarul Qader donated valuable books, journal and periodicals from his own collection to the East West University Library. Dr. M.

EWU Library team member organized an in-house knowledge sharing session on “Mentimeter – An Interactive Presentation Tool” on 29 December 2020 at 11:30 am. to 12:15 pm. in Reserve Section (Annex) of EWU Library. 

EWU Library celebrated International Open Access Week from 21 October 2019 to 24 October 2019. This week established by Scholarly Publishing and Academic ResourcesCoalition (SPARC) and partners in the student community in 2008.

***Sharing Food, Bringing Peace***

To extend an opportunity to book lovers, the University Press Limited (UPL) and Department of Economics in collaboration with Economics Club, East West University (EWU) have organized a book fair from 20-24 January 2019 at the EWU premise.

Ms. Beatrice Kaldun, UNESCO Country Representative in Bangladesh and MS. Kirsty Crawford, Project Director, Library Unlimited, British Council visited EWU Library on 30 October 2018. Professor Dr. Md. Nasiruddin, Dean, National University, Bangladesh was also present there.

Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) team visited East West University Library on 16 October, 2018 to know the details about the activities and services provided to its users. The team consists of three Library and IT officials of GUB.

The International Day of Peace is observed each year on 21 September.

EWU Library started EBSCO Discovery Service through UGC Digital Library Consortium from Summer 2018. Online research tool that “pulls together” almost all of our Library resources (books, e-books, journal articles, etc.) using a single search box.

Some times our respected members forget their user name, password or both (OPAC, Website, MyAthens) and face difficulties when login to enjoy that services.

EWU library introduced Online Article Request Service. If you are unable to get access to a certain full text article from any subscribed E-Resource Database, you may request us for your desired articles through online request form.
