Dr. M. Afsarul Qader, Former Ambassador and Foreign Secretary donated valuable books to EWU Library

On 02 June 2021, a book donation program was held at Dr. M. Afsarul Qader’s residence at Dhanmondi. Dr. M. Afsarul Qader donated valuable books, journal and periodicals from his own collection to the East West University Library. Dr. M. Afsarul Qader is a former ambassador and foreign secretary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. In his long career, he served in many countries representing Bangladesh and he earned fame for his honesty and hard work. Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser and Founder Vice Chancellor, East West University and Former Governor, Bangladesh Bank received the books on behalf of the University. The donation included reference books, textbooks, international periodicals, travel books, national and international journals, etc.

‘If we want to build a better society, we must read a lot of books and these books will definitely enrich the library collections,’ Dr. M. Afsarul Qader said while handing over the books and other information materials. ‘The East West University community will be enriched by the books,’ he also mentioned.

Dr. M. Afsarul Qader’s wife along with Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor & Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management & Librarian (In-charge), East West University, Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan, Chairperson & Assistant Professor, Department of Law, East West University and Mr. Mohammed Motiur Rahman, Deputy Librarian (Jr), East West University were present at the program.
