International Open Access Week, held globally from October 21-27, 2024, highlighted the significance of open access to scholarly research. Originating as a collaboration between the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) and student-led campus events, this year’s theme, “Community Over Commercialization,” emphasized the value of community-driven initiatives in the open access movement.
Dr. S. R. Lasker Library celebrated the event with enthusiasm through impactful activities:
- Open Access Showcase: A physical library display highlighted key open access resources and initiatives.
- Social Media Campaign: Engaging posts using hashtags like #OAWeek raised awareness throughout the week.
