Dr. S. R. Lasker Library, EWU, observed National Library Day 2026 on 5 February with a series of meaningful activities aligned with this year’s national theme, “Knowledge for liberation, foundation for the future" (জ্ঞানেই মুক্তি, আগামীর ভিত্তি”). Celebrated nationwide under the initiative of the Department of Public Libraries, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the day highlights the importance of access to information, lifelong learning, and the role of libraries in building an informed society.

As part of the celebration, the library introduced the Research Confusion Wall, an interactive initiative designed to gather students’ research‑related questions, challenges, and experiences. Students can share their concerns directly or by scanning a QR code to submit their responses online. The purpose of this initiative is to better understand the areas where students require support and to strengthen the library’s research assistance services in a targeted and effective way.

A short discussion session was also organized to mark the occasion. Professor Dr. Dilara Begum, Librarian (In-Charge), addressed the students and emphasized the vital role of libraries in academic success, information literacy, and research development. She highlighted that a modern academic library is more than a place for borrowing books; it is a center for knowledge creation, critical thinking, and digital competency. She encouraged students to make active use of library resources, ask questions, and build confidence in navigating academic information landscapes.

Dr. S. R. Lasker Library remains committed to supporting students and researchers by enhancing access to information, strengthening research assistance, and promoting digital literacy.
