Webinar on Understanding Libraries' Opportunities and Challenges in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals : Bangladesh Context

East West University (EWU) Library successfully organized a webinar on "Understanding Libraries' Opportunities and Challenges in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals: Bangladesh Context" on 15 January 2023 at 7:00 pm. through Google Meet. The Speakers of this webinar were: Dr. Dilara Begum, Associate Professor & Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Librarian (In-Charge), East West University and Md. Al Mamun, Manager, Library and Information Services, ICDDR, B, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The webinar focused on opportunities and challenges in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the libraries and library and information science (LIS) professionals in Bangladesh. EWU Library is trying to strive to motivate and inspire professionals to intensify their efforts to achieve the UN SDGs through this program. Around 50 participants were present in this webinar. Dr. Muhammad Hossam Haider Chowdhury, Chairman, Bangladesh Association of Librarians, Information Scientists and Documentalists (BALID) and Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, President, Library Association Bangladesh (LAB) expressed their views and opinions and hoped that this type of webinar will help LIS professionals to understand their roles and supports in achieving SDGs. They also thanked Dr. Dilara Begum and EWU Library team members for arranging an effective webinar for continuing engagement and dissemination of information at national and international levels.
