East West University (EWU) Library organized the closing ceremony of International Workshop on Health Information Literacy on -30 July. A total of 30 participants from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Maldives took part in this four day long workshop.
Md. Humayun Kabir, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest in this event while Professor Dr. Muniruddin Ahmed, vice Chancellor (In-charge), East West University Presided over this session.
East West University Library became a member of the International Federation of Library Association and Institutions (IFLA) on 11 November 2008. EWU Library will be benefited from this arrangement by getting or sharing specialized expertise on various types of libraries and library workshops, receiving selective newsletters and facilities to exchange electronic information of IFLA documents, including IFLA journal (a widely used information source), IFLA Directory, IFLA Annual Report etc.
The Archer K. Blood American Center Library’s outreach team conducted a presentation on 1 February 2007 at East West University Auditorium. The presentation topic was “American Libraries in Bangladesh: their programs and services”. A documentary film was also exhibited as part of that presentation. Professor Mohammad Musa, Ph.D, Vice Chancellor (Acting) attended the program as program chair. Dr. Khairul Azam, Registrar and Mr. Md. Nazim Uddin, Joint Librarian also attended the program. A good number of students participated at the program and enjoyed the presentation.
