The Dr. S. R. Lasker Library, East West University, celebrated Open Education Week in 2026, from March 2 to March 5. The Library engaged with the EWU community both online and offline to promote important concepts related to open education. Each year, the Library observes this global event with initiatives that actively support open learning and the sharing of knowledge.
This year, the Library:
- Introduced the value of Open Educational Resources (OER).
- Shared global platforms for free and openly accessible learning materials.
- Highlighted the importance of Creative Commons licenses for ethical knowledge sharing.
- Explored Open Pedagogy, encouraging learners to create, collaborate, and contribute.
These initiatives aimed to strengthen awareness of open knowledge, inclusive learning, and responsible information practices within the EWU community. Dr. S. R. Lasker Library remains committed to supporting students, researchers, and educators in discovering and utilizing open resources for meaningful learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
