Profile of an Ideal Top Business Manager

There are many management books that expound the necessary skills needed by managers to be effective managers. Most books also present case studies to illustrate the effectiveness. However, amidst the many explanations in a large book it is quite easy to loose focus of the picture of what is an ideal top manager. In this paper, we take a very concise focus on five top managers and their achievements. We paint the picture of an ideal top manager from these profiles. The qualities highlighted in this paper are in no way the only qualities that makes an excellent top manager. However, a reader next time evaluating hiring a manger or improving his or her own management skills should have benchmark to compare against
