Seminar on Media and Information Literacy held successfully
A Seminar on Media and Information Literacy was held successfully at Rajshahi University by East West University Library and Dept. of Information Science and Library Management, University of Rajshahi sponsored by CCD, Rajshahi on 15 December 2010. Dr. Jagtar Singh, Professor & Head, Department of Library and Information Science, and President, Indian Association of Teachers of Library and InformationScience (IATLIS) Patiala, India, as well as Chairman, International Information Literacy Consortium (IILC)" was key note speaker on the seminar. Professor Dr. Mizanuddin, Dean, Faculty of Social Science, University of Rajshahi was the Chief guest and Dilara Begum, Librarian, Head of Library, East WestUniversity , Chairman, Dept of Mass media and Journalism, University of Rajshahi, and Mr. Golam Murtoza, Director, CCD, Rajshahi were special guest of the seminar. Mr. Nazmul Hasan, Chairman, Dept of Information Science and Library Management presided over the inaugural session.
The seminar was started at 9:30 am and closed at 12:30 pm. The Key note speaker discussed different aspect and importance of Media and InformationLiteracy on the seminar. There were three parts in that seminar i.e. inauguration, discussion and question-answer session.  About 200 participants including faculty members, library professionals and students were present at the seminar. Mr. Armanul Houque, Lecturer, Dept of Information Science and Library Management coordinate the seminar.
