Socio-Economic Problems of Santals and Oraons: A Plea for Ethnic Community Development in the Barind Region of Bangladesh

This paper discusses some socio-economic problems of Santals and Oraons who live in the north-west region i.e. in the Barind region of Bangladesh (hereafter Barind) . The socio-economic problems of Santals and Oraons including land dispossession and land alienation, education, work opportunity, changing political structure, Bengali - non-Bengali relationship and role of political leaders focused are being in peculiar . Depicting these problems, there is on attempt to interpret the possible processes through which positive changes can be brought about in their society. Suggestions and ideas are also the forward to carry found the depict the possible process of forward development of the sautaes and rowans.
