Preservation of Cultural Heritage Resources in Digital Environment: Bangladesh Perspective

Culture heritage institutions library, archival institution and museums are playing a vital role in preserving the cultural heritage resources and preserving of thess recourses in digital format have become the most convenient methods in present days. This study focuses on preservation of culture heritage resources in digital format, highlights different issues digitization process. It observes thst there is an enormous shortage of modern facilities in the cultural heritage institutions in Bangladesh. This study gives emphasis what challenges are facing the Bangladesh culture heritage institution in case of digitization and also identify the problems of digital preservation of those recourses in Bangladesh. It also makes some recommendations for the future augmentation of digital heritage institutions in Bangladesh. It beliefs that adopting international standards, developing a framework for heritage institutions well lay solid foundations for building digital cultural resources in Bangladesh.
